Live a Life Without Anger - Free your Family from Fear
Did you know that more than one in four people (28%) say that they worry about how angry they get?
The physical and biological effects of coping with anger are drawn from the adrenal glands flooding the body with what are referred to as stress hormones. Many people will be familiar with hearing about adrenaline and cortisol – they are the hormones of stress. The heart rate, arterial tension and testosterone production increases and the left hemisphere of the brain is increasingly stimulated.
Essentially, the brain pushes blood away from the intestinal gut and towards our muscles, in preparation for exertion of a physical nature. This means that the heart rate, blood pressure and our respiration increases, causing the body temperature to rise and perspiration through our skin.
Angry feelings such as a surge in wanting to act in a violent manner can be due to many underlying difficulties which may include depression, anxiety, problems with addiction and other mental health challenges.
How would it feel to be free of the surges and effects of anger? Does anyone whose life could be transformed by treatment for what feels like uncontrollable urges to act out, hurt others or themselves? Do you fear for your loved ones, knowing that your behaviour is unacceptable, wishing for the day when everyone in the family or friendship group could enjoy themselves without the anxiety that there will be problems to deal with? You are not alone, and we treat people regularly who suffer and want to change their lives.
Seeking help is a brave step to take – here’s to your future.
Having surges in emotions such as anger is a common challenge and statistics tell us that medical professionals have found there are excellent options available for helping patients who come to them with anger.
The British Association of Anger Management posted some seriously interesting statistics, which you might find insightful:
• Almost a third of people (32%) say they have a close friend or family member who has trouble controlling their anger.
• More than one in ten (12%) say that they have trouble controlling their own anger.
• 84% strongly agree or agree that people should be encouraged to seek help if they have problems with anger.
• More than one in four people (28%) say that they worry about how angry they sometimes feel.
• One in five of people (20%) say that they have ended a relationship or friendship with someone because of how they behaved when they were angry.
• 64% either strongly agree or agree that people in general are getting angrier.
• Fewer than one in seven (13%) of those people who say they have trouble controlling their anger have sought help for their anger problems.
• 58% of people wouldn’t know where to seek help if they needed help with an anger problem. (Let’s change that! Tell them about our clinic and online therapies!)
• Generational differences are striking. Older people are less likely to report having a close friend or family member with an anger problem or to be worried about how angry they sometimes feel or that they have trouble dealing with their own anger, than younger people.
If someone in your life, or you yourself ever notice some of these signs, you could suggest that help with anger from a specialist anger management consultant could ease the symptoms, give you coping mechanisms and actually delve deep into your biological programmes and psyche.
