Resilience Unravelled Podcast

It has been my pleasure to record a podcast over the last 3-4 years with around 200 episodes focussing on the subject of personal resilience. Episodes include interviews with people who have achieved remarkable things boucing back from adversity in the process as well as other experts in the subject. I have included a few episodes here that may help inspire you or inform you around some of the areas of cognitive and emotional resilience.



Julie Cluff is a speaker, author, international life and grief coach and the founder and owner of Build a Life After Loss. As a life and grief coach, she helps those who are grieving to rebuild their life after loss and is the author of the book Miracles in the Darkness in which she shares her experiences with grief, including the death of her two youngest children in a car accident on Mother’s Day in 2007, and her journey back to hope and healing.  In this podcast:

Steven Campbell worked in hospital administration for twenty years before acquiring his Masters at the University of San Francisco and going on to pursue his greatest love, teaching. As a University Professor and Educational Dean in Northern California for the last 20 years, he now presents an eye-opening look at how our brains conform to and how optimise the messages we give them, so they literally rewire themselves to create new, positive self-images of how we see ourselves, and who we want to be. Julian Reeve is a former music director of the Broadway musical Hamilton, whose high standards propelled him to the top 1% of his industry and triggered a heart attack shortly after. Now a healthy, healed, and sought-after speaker on perfectionism, he offers fresh perspectives on how perfectionism is both perceived and managed. He has also written Captain Perfection & the Secret of Self-Compassion: A Self-Help Book for the Young Perfectionist. In this podcast:

Patrick Chester spent 15 years as a gambling addict and in the process lost millions and destroyed his family. He resorted to criminal acts to feed his addiction, ultimately ending up in jail. He’s now 5 years free of his addiction and now has a new purpose in life. After spending many years taking from people to feed his addiction, he now gives back! In this podcast:

Dr Sara Geber is a nationally recognised authority and expert in the area of life planning and retirement transition. She’s a certified retirement coach and sought after speaker as well as a regular contributor to Forbes.com on subjects of aging and retirement. She has also been quoted extensively in USA Today, the Huffington Post, Time Magazine and The Wall Street Journal. In this podcast:

Mike Cameron is a Canadian writer, speaker, philanthropist, ultramarathoner and advocate against Gender Based Violence who has worked with a variety of non-profits and charities to pave the way for a violence free future. Today he designs programmes to assist men to tap into their emotions in a real and authentic way and engage men and boys in the gender equity conversation.


Dan Williams survived open-heart surgery where he was revived multiple times during the operation. He went on to achieve top USA ranking as a masters track athlete and received All American Honors from the United States Track and Field Association. When learning of his near-death experience and athletic accomplishments, The American Heart Association published Dan's story to inspire the millions of people with heart disease that it's more than possible to achieve a healthy and fit lifestyle.


Bex Bedford is a body positive champion and self-acceptance activist. She has a vlog channel on YouTube, "Being an SSBBW" where she speaks about all aspects of life as a person of extended size. She also uses her platform to reach out to help navigate the path of mental health, self-love and self-acceptance, dating, sex, relationships.


Helen Barnett is an ex Metropolitan police officer. She was the first mother to join the Metropolitan Police’s SO19 Armed Response Team and in the line of duty was stabbed, caught up in two terrorist explosions and shot at in a firearms incident. She retired on medical grounds in the late 1990's and then faced a diagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder which manifested itself in symptoms like Bulimia and a relationship breakdown.
